Eric Schwartz is dean of the Humphrey School at the University of Minnesota. He was previously U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees and Migration, and before that served as the UN Secretary General’s Deputy Special Envoy for Tsunami Recovery. Earlier in his career, he worked at the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the U.S. National Security Council, the U.S. House of Representatives, and Human Rights Watch. He has also taught at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School.
